GOHAR MAHAL - A HERITAGE STRUCTURE REHABILITATION
Built by Qudisiya Begum (who was also known as Gohar Begum) wife of Nawab Nazar Mohammad Khan in 1820, the Mahal is a wonderful expression of the fusion of Hindu and Mughal architecture.

Situated right behind the Shaukat Mahal on the banks of the Upper Lake is an architectural marvel. However, the palace has not been well maintained and in a dilapidated state. To rehabilitate the Mahal, Madhya Pradesh Hasta Shilp Vikas Nigam assigned the task to CICO Technologies to provide the right solution.

Over the years CICO's commitment to rehabilitate the heritage structure is one of its core areas. Having analyzed the problem of Gohar Mahal, CICO came out with the right solution.

On the upper slab the Tapecrete P-151 was extensively used on the existing lime concrete to protect it from water intrusion. CICO Sipel was used to protect its original natural colour from inside. CICO Sealcoat used to protect the "Dalan" from water seepage. CICO Tilfi was used for fixing the stone claddings in the effected areas, where the stone were getting chipped - off.

CICO is proud to be associated with the rehabilitation of Gohar Mahal and recently rehabilitated Calcutta Town Hall.
